High school aged TWHYA members can earn a varsity style letter by participating in show and trail events with their Tennessee Walking Horse.

All Youth Day
Held annually on the first Saturday of the National Celebration in Shelbyville, Tennessee, All Youth Day features a judging contest, clinics, and plenty of time to hang out with friends. All Youth Day is free so come have some fun!

Apprentice Certified Riding Instructor
This is a program to start youth on the road to becoming certified riding instructors. You would work with kids under a certified instructor and learn the proper ways to teach someone to ride. You must be 14-18 years of age for this program.

Scout Patch Program
Any youth using a registered Tennessee Walking Horse to earn his/her horse related scout merit badge will receive a colorful embroidered patch from TWHBEA.

Trail
TWHBEA offers many overall and high point awards to our youth in the sport of trail riding. We offer the following programs; Competitive Trail Riding, Distance, Endurance, Limited Distance, Open Gaited Breed Trail Riding and Orienteering.
The Tennessee Walking Horse is fast becoming the preferred breed of horse to enjoy on the trail and in an effort to give back TWHBEA also offers youth awards for Trail Volunteering and Trail Promotion. TWHYA International Costume Contest
This is a youth costume photography contest for all members. Photo can be taken anywhere, show, clinic, camp or your backyard. Winning photo will appear on TWHBEA website, facebook, in the youth email blast and in the Voice magazine. Contestants may enter one photo per judging. Photo may be an individual or group theme shot. A special prize will be sent to the champion.
Queen Contest
High school aged members of TWHYA can compete to be crowned TWHYA Queen.
